  • Monday 27 February 2017

It’s an absolutely awesome time for the Sunshine Coast with transformative projects like the Maroochydore City Centre, the Airport Expansion, the Solar Farm and the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital, just to name a few, all underway or opening this year!

In addition to this, our very first National Sporting team the Sunshine Coast Lightning is about to take flight in the National Netball League and we’re also celebrating the Sunshine Coast’s 50th Anniversary!

Great times!

A $23 million commitment to our roads

Council maintains more than 2200km of roads across our region through its Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program to ensure they’re safe for motorists.

The 2016/17 program will improve more than 80km across 193 roads!

If you come across road works in your travels, please slow down and follow traffic directions, for your safety and that of the people working on the roads. Visit council’s website to check which roads will be improved this month.

Is 2017 the year you become a volunteer?

Council is working with the community to improve and enhance the region’s botanic gardens and conservation reserves. With all these exciting new developments underway, our wonderful volunteers are always on the lookout for more support.

If you’re passionate about educating our visitors about our incredible natural surroundings and are keen to get involved, visit council’s website for more information.

Lovin’ the Sunshine Coast!
