Cr OPray Tourism boom
  • Thursday 29 June 2017

What a terrific experience it was venturing with Visit Sunshine Coast and 22 of our local tourism operators and partners to showcase our region at the recent Australian Tourism Exchange in Sydney!

This came on the back of the Sunshine Coast’s highest ever increase in international visitors last year, with 231,000 arrivals - up 20% from the previous year and contributing a whopping $266 million to our local economy!

The fantastic growth in international tourist numbers can only continue given the transformation that’s set to happen at Sunshine Coast Airport and with Visit Sunshine Coast now having representatives in New Zealand, Singapore and Europe, cultivating relations between those countries and our region.

Of course, our wonderful beaches, coastal towns, tourist attractions, magnificent hinterland villages and our super-friendly residents have plenty to do with our world-wide appeal too!
