A new jetty for Sundale
It was terrific to be invited to officially open the Sundale Coolum Beach retirement community jetty. The new jetty is a great spot for relaxation and recreation alongside picturesque Stumers Creek. Many of the Sundale village residents turned up to have a look at this new facility and all agreed it will add to their lifestyle choices such as fishing and boating. I would like to thank Sundale for the ongoing high standards of support they provide for the 'more mature' residents of our community.
The latest project Coolum meeting highlighted a number of key projects currently underway in Coolum. Suffice to say, with so much happening in the area Coolum residents are looking forward to catching their breath over the Christmas and New Year break. Events such as the Originals Music Festival and the Nutri-Grain IronMan Series are sure to keep Coolum front of mind for the many people who visit the area. Council projects considered priorities by Project Coolum include the next stage of Jack Morgan Park, improvements to the Coolum Lions Park and the new whale watching platform at Second Bay.
Coastal walk along Point Arkwright
Upgrades to the coastal trail pathway at Point Arkwright are progressing well. The top portion of the pathway joining Jubilee Esplanade has been completed and all other work, including other sections of pathway and landscaping, are very close to being finished. In fact, if we’ve had fine weather this week it could be complete by the time you’re reading this. Feedback from the community on this important project has been very positive and I believe this coastal pathway will prove to be a popular destination for residents and visitors alike.
