Blended Youth Festival

Despite the rain dampening the evening, I hear this year’s Blended Youth Festival was another well-organised event with plenty of great young artists contributing to the entertainment. Well done to IFYS and everyone involved for their fantastic efforts in bringing the event together.

Draft Parking Management Plan consultation

Council manages a number of on and off-street car park spaces and every new car park space can cost up to $30,000 to construct. So it’s important to make the best use of the car park spaces we have now. With that in mind, I encourage residents to have a look at the draft Parking Management Plan and provide feedback on future solutions by May 5. You can view a full copy of the draft plan and local area plans on council’s website.

Have your say

There are a number of other items now open for public feedback too. Council is inviting its residents, suppliers, investors, home owners and visitors to take part in a survey about what you think is critical in delivering a great customer experience by April 30. I also encourage young people aged 12-24 years to speak up and have their say on the Sunshine Coast Youth Action Plan before May 31. Head to council’s website and click on the Community Engagement section of the homepage for details.

Meet and greet

I’ll be at the Coolum Library on Wednesday May 17 from 1-3pm if you would like to come along to discuss local issues or council projects.
