Cr Robinson - Celebrating at Muller Park
  • Tuesday 10 May 2016

Now that the local government election is over, I would like to thank the residents of Bli Bli and districts for returning me as their Division 9 councillor. After the results were counted, it was clear that I had a high level of support from residents in this area and I thank you for that. It is a great privilege to serve these wonderful communities and I look forward to working with you over the next four years.

Celebrating at Muller Park

I was very proud to join residents at the official opening of the new Muller Park playground at the end of April. The event was part of council’s Heritage Discovery Weekend and focused on the indigenous heritage of the site, which inspired the playground. The highlights of this event were the Welcome to Country by Lyndon Davis and the Gubbi Gubbi dance troupe and the cultural workshop, which included a demonstration of handcrafted techniques handed down through the generations. This project demonstrates the great outcomes that can be achieved through working together with the indigenous people of the Sunshine Coast.

There were plenty of kids getting excited when they saw the playground being created and they have quickly given it the thumbs up. If you haven’t had a chance to take the family yet, make sure you do. There’s a barbecue and picnic shelter and toilets nearby.
