Coolum Beach on show
It was great to have Coolum play host to the Ocean6 Series event recently. With international broadcasts, it provided fantastic exposure for the region. Coolum Beach was a prime location for the athletes from around Australia to put their skills to the test. Congratulations to all participants, particularly the local athletes who were victorious. Council was instrumental in sponsoring and facilitating this event here in Coolum.
The $2.48 million expansion of the Coolum Library is now complete and it looks fantastic. We recently celebrated the official opening with a great turnout of local residents and Friends of the Coolum Library. The improvements include a timber deck, a children’s play area and a dedicated event zone that provides space for library programs and events, and community meetings. Coolum is the Sunshine Coast’s busiest library and the renovations will certainly be much appreciated by many people in the community.
Meet the candidates
It was really interesting to attend the last ‘Meet the Candidates Night’ for the State seat of Ninderry. It was apparent that some speakers really understood the role of the State government and there were some good ideas put forward by some candidates that I think will be worth following up after the election. Congratulations to all candidates their efforts during the campaign.
Public Notification for Yaroomba Beach

As this is my last column for the year, I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and a safe and prosperous new year. I look forward to working with you again in 2017.
