I recently attended the Coolum Business and Tourism 'July Social Night' at the Coolum Beach Surf Club. This is always a great night for local business people to get the latest on both regional and local projects and developments that will provide opportunities for businesses. In talking to a number of the local business owners I was really pleased to hear that they are busy at this time of year, with many of the tourist venues full of visitors from the southern states and New Zealand. These visitors provide an important boost to our local economy and help our businesses prosper, which keeps the doors open for us all to enjoy.
Let your camera capture the story of our unique environment
Photographers who love capturing creative, inspiring and emotive images of the Sunshine Coast’s beautiful environment have a few days left to enter an art award with a difference. The 2016 Sunshine Coast Environment Photography Awards – offering three prizes with a total value of $8500 – are an exciting opportunity for local photographers to use their skills and passion to share the story of the Coast’s natural and built landscapes. The competition is free for residents of the Sunshine Coast Local Government Area. Entries close August 3 and all you need to know to enter is on council’s website.
Meet with me
Come along to the Coolum Library on August 17 at 1-3pm for my next ‘meet and greet’ session. It’s an opportunity for me to discuss issues and projects with the Coolum community.
