The trials and tribulations of the Peregian Springs Golf Course have been in the media a lot of late. One element of this is an application for the development of a parcel of golf course land, to be divided into 14 residential lots. This will be brought before council at the Ordinary Meeting on August 18. The current status of this development application is that an officer’s report has been written which recommends refusal of the application. The agenda and officers report for this meeting is on the council website now.
Additionally, I have been invited to a community meeting on Saturday August 13, where I am happy to answer questions about the council process. The meeting will be held at 3pm at Peregian Springs State School's indoor sports centre. For further details you can email the Peregian Springs Supporters Group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Last week I attended a Coolum Residents Association meeting to discuss some topical issues affecting Coolum residents such as the recent and third application for the Bunnings development, the recently approved Coolum Element development, the Sekisui workshops and the Coolum Community Centre. Thanks to everyone who attended and for giving me the opportunity to clarify council’s position on these matters.
With less than five months until Christmas, now is the time for business groups to apply for council grants to help with decorating business centres during the festive season. There is $5000 in funding available for Division 9. Find details about the application process and guidelines on council’s website.
