Interpretive centre upgrade
The upgrade to the interpretive centre at Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary has recently been completed. The new educational and interactive display is an outstanding addition to the centre, which will help make visitors more aware of the environmental and historical aspects of the Maroochy River. I believe this is now one of the region’s best environmental displays and I encourage everyone to go along and enjoy this new experience.
Bli Bli Community Association
There were a range of issues discussed at length at last month’s Bli Bli Community Association meeting. The good people and Halcyon Landing have already written to their state member, Mr Peter Wellington, about widening the Bli Bli bridge and improving the intersection at Waigani Street. Additionally, the association will also be writing to Mr Wellington on these and other traffic issues around the main streets of Bli Bli.
An update was also provided on the Bli Bli community bank project. With a target of $400,000 in pledges to attract Heritage Bank, there is still a long way to go but I am confident Bli Bli residents would love to have a community bank.
Come say hello
I will be at the front of Bli Bli IGA on Tuesday August 9 from 9-11am if you would like to come along for a chat about local issues and council projects.
