NAIDOC Week in Bli Bli

It was a privilege to be invited to launch the Muller Park Indigenous Cultural Signage as part of NAIDOC Week activities. The program included a Welcome to Country by the Kabi Kabi Traditional Dance Troup, keynote speakers and an insight into the significant cultural importance of the site to the Kabi Kabi First Nation People. As some of you may know the Undambi playground at Muller Park has an indigenous theme, so it was great to see the children who were playing join in with the dance troupe.

2018/19 budget for Division 9

There are plenty of opportunities to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle in Division 9 and Sunshine Coast Council’s 2018/19 budget will deliver even more. Whether you’re swimming or walking, spending time at parks and playgrounds with the family, hoping to attend outdoor events or just relaxing outdoors, we will be making plenty of improvements in Division 9 to provide more options.

Highlights for Bli Bli include $1.36 million for the streetscape upgrade in the town centre on David Low Way and $80,000 to upgrade Philbrook Park. There is also $7.35 million to improve and expand the Nambour Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre, $490,000 to revitalise Jack Morgan Park in Coolum and $200,000 to upgrade gravel sections of North Arm-Yandina Creek Road and Zgrajewski Rd, Yandina Creek.
