Norrie Job Park upgrade
With the second stage of Jack Morgan Park complete planning has now commenced to upgrade the third and final Coolum central park, Norrie Job Park. I intend to engage in community consultation on the design concepts later this year.
An airport business update
In good news for the Sunshine Coast Airport, the continued growth in flights and passenger numbers is leading to greater interest by airlines in future business opportunities.
That was the update provided by airport operator, Palisade Investment Partners at the airport’s Inaugural Regional Stakeholder Forum. The next task is to progress the draft airport masterplan for consultation and consideration in 2019.
Applications are now open for Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) grants. Local artists can apply for funding for concept development, project and seed funding, individual development and mentorship. Expressions of interest for RADF grants are open year-round and can be submitted at any time. Applications close November 1.
Working together for Coolum
During my regular catch up with state member Dan Purdie we discussed a number of Coolum matters including Bunnings, traffic issues at the Coolum Sports Complex and the Coolum Men’s Shed community hall project. Dan is doing a terrific job representing his community.
Meet and greet
As always, I welcome you to discuss any local or council issues. Join me at the Coolum Library on Wednesday October 24 from 1-3pm for my next ‘meet and greet’ session.
