NutriGrain Ironman Series

Wasn't it great to see the NutriGrain Ironman Series back in Coolum? Thousands of visitors and competitors received a warm welcome from our community. I had the privilege of presenting the men with their medals and was pleased to hear how much they love Coolum and its beaches. Congratulations to the Coolum SLSC for their outstanding support of this iconic event.

Meals on Wheels

It was wonderful to attend a barbecue Coolum Meals on Wheels put on for their clients and volunteers. This has been the biggest year yet for their services, with Phil and his team of dedicated volunteers again providing quality meals for many people in our community. This event gave me the opportunity to thank them and acknowledge their ongoing work and commitment.

Star students

As well as the recent secondary presentation evening, I recently attended the primary presentation event for St Andrew’s Anglican College. These are always impressive evenings, which celebrate the academic and extra-curricular achievements of the students. The event was essentially run by the school captains and featured quality music from the concert band and string ensemble. I always feel inspired by these kids and what they have achieved throughout the year. Our future is definitely in good hands with leaders so involved in their community from such a young age.

This week I also attended the Coolum Croquet Club AGM and the Coolum Beach Tennis Club Christmas dinner. Both clubs continue to show the importance of their respective sports while engaging with the community in lots of fun and fitness through their outdoor activities.

Christmas greetings

I would like to wish you all a happy and safe Christmas and New Year. I look forward to catching up with many of you in 2016.
