Cr Robinson - Surf success
  • Friday 16 November 2018

One of the annual highlights of my year is attending the Coolum State High School awards night.

The 2018 function on October 31 was an outstanding night which highlighted the successes of the students over the past 12 months and we welcomed the new school leadership group for 2019 who I’m sure will do a wonderful job.

As well as the presentation of the academic awards, a real feature of the evening were the live music and gymnastic performances that really showed the depth of talent that exists at Coolum High.

Thank-you to principal Troy Ascott for the invitation to attend and congratulations to all of the staff for their contribution and commitment to educating this generation of Coolum High students.

Surf success

With great hosts at local surf club, Coolum Beach again showed that it’s a spectacular venue for surf lifesaving by hosting stop number two of the 2018/19 Ocean6 Series, proudly presented by council and Visit Sunshine Coast.

It was fantastic to see the best surf competitors in the country hitting the surf and showing the excellent skills they have in each discipline.

If you weren’t there to see the action in person, or even if you were there and would like to revisit the experience, the Coolum round will be on Fox Sports, giving our area great publicity to a wide audience.

Helping local business

If you’re at Sunshine Coast Airport, a fantastic shop that highlights some of the great local produce that comes from our region is now open.

The Sunshine Coast 153° East concept shop stocks a range of home-grown and hand-made gourmet food products, gifts, homewares, and skincare lines from selected local and regional businesses.

Its name comes from the longitude line running through the Sunshine Coast

Meet and greet

My next meet and greet in Coolum is on November 21 at the Coolum Library at 1pm. Please come along and say hello.
