Youth Action Plan
It is now time for the community to have its say on the draft Sunshine Coast Youth Action Plan 2018-2021, which sets out the priority areas to support the region’s young people and youth services sector. Feedback on the draft plan, endorsed by Sunshine Coast Council on November 9, is open until 5pm on Monday, February 12, 2018.
Come along to Tickle Park on January 16, 10am-12pm for the Coolum Speak Up Engage Pop-Up session.
Apply for grants
Private rural landholders can apply for assistance to undertake on-the-ground projects to protect and enhance the region’s environmental values through Sunshine Coast Council’s Landholder Environment Grants. You can read the guidelines and submit an Expression of Interest by February 26 on council’s website.
Be storm ready
With storm season upon us, make sure you have the SCCApp on your phone or tablet to receive CoastAlert notifications. These free alerts provide important information to the community when severe weather is approaching, flood waters are starting to rise or there’s another type of disaster on the Sunshine Coast.
Meet and greet
I hope everyone had a wonderful break, at least a few days to relax, over the past few weeks. My first Coolum ‘meet and greet’ session for the year is on February 21 at 1-3pm in the usual spot at Coolum Library. Pencil the date in and I hope to see you there as we get going on what I’m sure is going to be a great 2018.
