Cr Robinson - #saferfamilies
  • Thursday 22 October 2015

A few weekends back council hosted a Walk against Domestic Violence to show support for safer families and better communities. Council has taken a lead role against this terrible blight on our community, and we have Queensland Police, the Local Government Association of Queensland and community leaders on board. The walk achieved its aim of sending a clear message that family violence will not be tolerated. The strong community participation and the subsequent media coverage demonstrated to me that this is an important community issue that is affecting far too many people.

Parklakes II sales office open

Bli Bli’s newest development, Parklakes II, is now open for business with the Master Builders display village and sales office ready for buyers to choose their new home sites. This fantastic development, with its beautiful lake system and adjoining parklands, creates a terrific residential setting for families wanting to settle in our river community. Gauging from the success of Sunday’s launch, we already have a number of people lining up to share in what Bli Bli has to offer.

Catching up on castle news

This month’s meet and greet at the Bli Bli River Markets shopping centre was busy as usual and topics of discussion were diverse. One of the more interesting visits was from The Sunshine Castle’s Birte Beneke-Uhrig who gave me a run down on the upcoming Opera in the Castle event. It sounds like it will be an outstanding show, with some of Australia’s finest performers. The castle really is an ideal setting for this kind of event and I would encourage you to book a ticket online and support this iconic Bli Bli venue.
