Cr Rogerson Community wheels turning in Eumundi
  • Tuesday 03 July 2018

For the first time in a long time I was unable to attend this year’s Rotary Club of Eumundi Pride of Work Awards, due to another commitment in Kenilworth. By all reports, it was an outstanding event – not that we’d expect anything less from the Rotary club which does a stellar job running all of its events & fundraisers right throughout the year. Infact, the entire Eumundi community is absolutely first rate when it comes to planning and running events which attract people from other parts of our region and South East Queensland.

I’m talking about events like the Eumundi Art Prize, World Cinema, the Long Lunch, the Thai Festival, the Unearthed Exhibition and many many more! It’s one of many elements which highlight the very strong civic pride in Eumundi.

I urge everyone to make themselves familiar with the Experience Eumundi website ( so you can stay up-to-date with all that’s happening in and around the town – I guarantee you’ll never be stuck for something to do!

Playground’s a hit!

Speaking of drawcards in Eumundi, the upgraded Dick Caplick Park playground is proving quite the hit with youngsters from all corners of the Sunshine Coast!  Division 10 is such a diverse area and one of my key priorities as councillor has been to ensure that each town has its own unique point-of-difference which symbolises its character and draws visitors in from outside the area.

To ensure we hit the mark in this regard with the Dick Caplick Park playground, I contributed an additional $35,000 of divisional funding. The end result is a bigger, higher and better playground which youngsters absolutely love!

This great playground also contributes to making Eumundi a destination for tourists and residents, 365 days a year, rather than just the two market days of Wednesday and Saturday.

Rounding off for now, Rogo.
