Cr Rogerson Hollywood comes to Currie St
  • Tuesday 03 July 2018

What an unbelievable night of fun and entertainment was had by all when Hollywood came to Nambour on Saturday, May 19 for the red carpet  roll out in Currie Street for cast members of the soon-to-be-released Aussie horror film ‘BOAR’!

This movie is produced and directed by born and bred Nambour local Christopher Lee Sun and it was terrific that Chris chose to return to his home town for a premiere screening of his latest masterpiece.

‘BOAR’ was shot in the bushland around the Sunshine Coast and Gympie and has been picked up by Universal Pictures. Its cast includes John Jarratt of Wolf Creek fame, Bill Moseley from Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Ernie Dingo and Simone Buchanan from the hit TV series ‘Hey Dad’ and Nathan Jones from Mad Max Fury Road fame. So it was great to showcase our town of Nambour to the world!

This great event would not have been possible without the generosity of some wonderful local people who donated their time, equipment  and amazing expertise to ensure everything ran smoothly. Ross Hopper from Maleny Dairies and his staff members Shikani & Jake provided wild pigs which were quite a hit with the crowds! Martin Pettifer and Paul Tyak from Big Screens Australia also chipped in with all the Led screens, cameras, video of event, plus outside PA equipment.  Alan Marr from Marrs Electrical and Marrs Management, who provided financial assistance towards the event and Claytons Towing who once again offered assistance to support a Nambour Event.

Gary Crick from Crick Auto Group provided several Mercedes Benz vehicles to transport cast members to and from the premiere and I’d also like to thank council staff members Mark Hayes, Drew Geppit, Jo Martin and Nathan Nilsson for their professional assistance on the night.

I’d like to say a huge THANKYOU to all of the aforementioned people for their fantastic efforts!
