Blue sails over Double Bay Park
I am pleased to announce we have now completed the installation of a shade sail over the playground at Double Bay Park on Grand Parade.
After park users contacted me with their concerns and the issue was effectively taken up by the Kawana Island Residents Association, I decided to fast-track this project by committing some discretionary funding towards it.
The finished result looks good. The blue colour complements surroundings and the sail is big enough to accommodate any future expansion of the playground.
I would like to thank park users and the residents association for bringing this to my attention.
Don’t dump rubbish in our backyard
There has been an increase in reports of rubbish and other unwanted goods being dumped in public areas.
Not only is dumping unsightly and potentially dangerous, cleaning of these sites diverts valuable time and public funds from other council initiatives.
Help keep your neighbourhood free of illegal dumping, report any incidents to Council—phone 5475 7272 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Bus and train travel made easy
A new Sunshine Coast Public Transport Guide provides handy step-by-step information for travelling around the region.
It includes a map of routes, ticket details, and travel tips.
You can collect a copy from Council’s customer service centres, libraries or visitor information centres.
