Night works at Sugar Road

Some essential resurfacing work is needed on a section of Sugar Road, meaning it be closed to traffic for around two weeks from May 25

The work will be carried out between Wises Road and Dalton Drive and will be a welcome improvement for the many motorists who travel on Sugar Road each day.

The road has been in need of an upgrade and obviously it may cause some inconvenience - but doing the work at night will cause far less disruption than the daytime alternative.

To minimise disruption to businesses and residents, work will only take place between 6pm and 6am. The road works may cause some noise, which will be reduced wherever possible to minimise any impact on nearby residents.

Detours will be in place via Maroochydore Boulevard and Dalton Drive, while traffic controllers will help with parking and access for residents.

Don’t forget to have your say on the future of Mooloolaba before 5pm on Monday, May 25. Council is inviting all residents, business owners and visitors to share their vision for the town as part of its Place Making Mooloolaba project.

You can complete a short survey on Council’s website, or share your vision on social media using the hashtag #visionformooloolaba.

Thank you to everyone who came along to the chalk visioning day on May 9 and everyone who has already told us what changes you want – and don’t want – to see.

We’ll use your feedback to develop a master plan, which you’ll be invited to comment on later this year.
