  • Friday 02 December 2016

Our best young minds have their chance to shine in the second Mayor’s Telstra Technology Awards which have been officially launched for 2017.

The inaugural competition this year certainly showed we have many fantastically creative students focused on helping to develop a smart, healthy and creative future.

That’s one of the key reasons council is very pleased to partner with Telstra to provide this competition –  it encourages our region’s young people to express their technological talents.

It's helping us to put our youngsters on the right pathway to develop the kinds of skills that will be so important to the careers of the future here on our Coast.

I'd invite all students in years 10 to 12 in 2017 to check out the Mayor’s Telstra Technology Awards over the break.

Get together with your school mates, form a team and have a think about a great idea or an app or an invention that you’re interested in developing.

You'll be in the running for $20,000 worth of prizes and if you’d like some inspiration, you can jump on council’s website and watch the video from this year’s awards.
