Sunshine Coast Council will celebrate Australian Citizenship Day by hosting a citizenship ceremony at Nambour Civic Centre on Monday 17 September for 120 recipients.

Newly appointed State Director of Immigration and Citizenship Queensland, Robert Hoitink, will join 200 guests to welcome Australia’s newest citizens.

Citizenship ceremony entertainment includes traditional Welcome to Country and Aboriginal dancing performed by Lyndon Davis and the Gubbi Gubbi Dance Troupe, Australian bush poetry performed by John Major and a special anthem performance by local singer William Clift. Afternoon tea will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Australian citizenship ceremonies on the Sunshine Coast are held bi-monthly at locations across the region. Visit council’s website for further information on Australian Citizenship Ceremonies.
