Lake Kawana Community Centre, kids activities, drumming, African Drumming, Singing and Dance workshop

If you are looking for a fun and energetic activity to entertain the kids these Easter school holidays, Sunshine Coast Council’s Lake Kawana Community Centre has just the answer.

Kids can join West African djembe drumming teacher Nathaniel Combs from Rhythm Culture at 10am on Monday, April 4 and Tuesday, April 5 for a rich, engaging and interactive African Drumming, Singing and Dance workshop.

The one-hour workshops are designed to delight the imagination and spark inner creativity and are best suited to young people aged eight to 16.

It's a relaxed event where learning and personal expression are encouraged through storytelling, sharing instruments, dancing, jumping, moving, shaking and singing easy songs.

Nathaniel performs regularly at schools and kindergartens and witnesses the benefits of music and movement for children.

Barista made espresso coffee will be available to purchase from the on-site Lakeview Café so you can sit back, relax and watch your child’s imagination run free.

Places are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are $16 per person.  Book now by calling Lake Kawana Community Centre on 5413 1400 or book online at www.scvenuesandevents.com.au

Lake Kawana Community Centre has a diverse program of school holiday activities, performances and events happening throughout the year ranging from magic shows with Nickleby the magician, Hula Hoop workshops with Sunshine’s Hoop Love or live performances such as The Fairies Dancing Girls and pantomimes.
