A new look for Noosa Junction

Noosa Junction is set for a make-over with council starting work this month on Stage 1 of the much anticipated Noosa Junction Master Plan.

Noosa Junction’s central hub, Arcadia Street, is the first cab off the rank in council’s commitment to revitalising the area over the next three years, through a major Streetscaping Program.

Division 11 Councillor Russell Green said the works, mostly at the eastern end of Arcadia Street, include a facelift for the footpaths, a new shared zone providing a safer crossing for pedestrians, and enhanced street furnishings.

“The streetscape and landscape design will complement the finishes added to the Noosa Transit Centre, which is set for completion in August,” Cr Green said.

“These works are about providing a comfortable, safe community space where people come together to meet, dine, shop and enjoy all that the Junction has to offer.”

“We’ve planned for the work to be carried out during the quieter months, so it’s all finished in October, weather permitting, and looking great in time for summer.”

Arcadia Street will remain open for business during the streetscape works. Council will continue to work closely with local businesses to ensure minimal disruptions during the construction period.

The Noosa Junction Master Plan was developed in close consultation with both the community and Noosa Junction traders.  The Plan will develop the character of the Noosa Junction shopping precinct and reveal the potential of its unique local qualities and define it as a destination.
