A pathway to improved safety

Safer travels to and from school – that’s what students at Brightwater State School can now enjoy via a new concrete pathway on Holloway Crescent.

Division 6 Councillor Christian Dickson said the works had resulted from collaboration between the community and council.

“A member of the community contacted council with a few concerns about a stretch of land alongside Holloway Crescent that was overgrown with shrubs and difficult to access for pedestrians,” Cr Dickson said.

“When council cleaned up the area we noted that a pathway really was needed to link with existing pathway further down the road and enable students from the adjoining Brightwater State School safer travels.

“So 45m of pathway was constructed to fill this missing link and students now have a much safer and easier access right from the school front gate along Holloway Crescent through to Kawana Way.

"This project cost around $9000 which I was happy to provide via my divisional allocation funding.”
