Big cow little cow by Fiona Groom

A beautiful exhibition inspired by animal life by artist Fiona Groom will be on display at Maroochydore Library from June 26 to July 23.

Presented by Sunshine Coast Council, the display includes a range of quirky and realistic portraits of animals in the natural world.

Fiona Groom has a distinctive talent. Her paintings are based on the many images of animals she captures on film.

With the aid of a camera, Fiona is able to capture that look, that expression and sometimes, a little humour, making each photograph special. She then crops, rearranges and manipulates the images to help fire up her imagination in the important process of creating compositions that are beautiful and unique.

For Fiona, creating the colors and textures of nature has become an uncomplicated process that encourages the continued exploration and experimentation of documenting what she sees.

Fiona has found that by using acrylics as her medium she is able to make ideas a reality.
