WHAT: Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards – extended nomination period

WHEN: Nominations close: Friday 9 January 2009 – 5.00 pm

WHERE: Sunshine Coast Regional Council

The nomination period for the inaugural Sunshine Coast Australia Day awards has been extended for another month and will close on Friday 9 January 2009.

The decision to extend the nomination deadline was made to allow residents more time to prepare nominations in this busy period leading up to Christmas.

So now is your chance to take time over the festive season to nominate someone great!

If you know someone who works hard at making the Sunshine Coast a better place to live now is your chance to say thanks by nominating them for an award today.

The awards, which will celebrate and showcase our Sunshine Coast citizens, will be presented in the following categories:

  • Community
  • Creative
  • Economic
  • Environment
  • Sport & Recreation
  • Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year

Nomination forms can also be picked up from council’s customer service centres, libraries, Sunshine Coast University and TAFE.
