‘Tell your business story’ – that’s the tip for local business owners from 2014 Sunshine Coast Business Awards winner Stuart Daniels.

The Managing Director for ‘Trailers 2000’ took home ‘Enterprise of the Year’ at last year’s gala awards night. The prestigious prize also provided a big boost for the Beerwah-based business.

“Winning at the Sunshine Coast Business Awards definitely lifts your profile among the local market,” he said.

“It also provided us with a welcome boost to the enthusiasm of our entire team. It gave them the recognition they deserve for all their hard work and commitment.”

Trailers 2000 was nominated for its 2014 award by a business acquaintance. This year, businesses can nominate themselves for a gong and Stuart said it’s an opportunity not to miss.

“I would encourage every business to enter the awards and be sure to tell the judges your story,” he said.

“Last year the judges were impressed with our ability to adapt to a changing market and our ability to overcome the many business challenges. Over the past two decades we’ve built our business from nothing to now Australia’s number one trailer manufacturer, supplying trailers nationally to customers like Bunnings, Mitre 10, Ruralco, Australian Defence and more.

“We’ve achieved this from very humble beginnings here on the Sunshine Coast.”

Sunshine Coast Council is the major sponsor for the 2015 awards. Mayor Mark Jamieson said an exciting mix of awards were up for grabs this year.

“The Sunshine Coast Business Awards provide priceless recognition for the achievements of local businesses and this year celebrates its 21st anniversary,” he said.

“More than 200 nominations have already been received for this year’s awards that include tourism and business sector awards, major awards for business performance, individual awards and of course the overall business of the year.”

“It’s also great to see that a number of categories include Clean Technologies and Aviation which are High Value Industries in the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Strategy 2013-33.”

Nominations are open for the 2015 Sunshine Coast Business Awards. Entries close COB, Monday September 22 and the awards gala night will be held on Saturday November 7.
