Exporting can be a very rewarding business, and more Sunshine Coast companies are getting in on the act.

It’s important to know where the opportunities are – and the pitfalls lack of understanding can create.

“Sunshine Coast Council has organised a special networking event for businesses considering exporting, which will double as the launch of our new Export and Global Capability program,” Mayor Mark Jamieson, who will attend the event, said.

“The event will help local businesses better understand aspects of the export market, including the opportunities flowing from the new Australia-Japan Free Trade Agreement.

“The free information session will feature renowned speaker and former Chief Economist for the Australian Trade Commission, Tim Harcourt.

“Tim is an active commentator in national and international media on economic and trade issues. He also teaches International Business at University of NSW,” Mayor Jamieson said.

Managing Director of Bassett Barks Sue Joseph will also speak about how her business has benefited from exporting.
