Recent erosion around Maroochydore and Alexandra beaches is fairly normal for this time of year, Sunshine Coast Council said, following recent strong winds in the region over the last few days.

A council spokesman said recent weather conditions had taken their toll on some beaches, but council takes a proactive approach to managing erosion.

"These include event specific remediation works, normal operational programs that include a routine inspection regime and planned maintenance activities, and long-term erosion planning and associated works," the spokesman said.

"In relation to last week's event, council officers undertook inspections, and while no significant erosion issues were identified, council will continue to monitor and will undertake actions to address any erosion issues as required."
