Bring on the birthdays: ageing with adventures
  • Friday 18 January 2013

Sunshine Coast Council invites the community to join author Maggie Counihan when she launches her latest book Bring on the Birthdays: Ageing with Adventures at Caloundra Library on Tuesday 5 February at 10am.

Bring on the Birthdays: Ageing with Adventures is the sequel to her first book Backpacking to Freedom: Solo at Sixty.

You will be entertained and inspired when Maggie, a young at heart 74 year old, talks about her new book featuring stories of travel, adventure and good practical views on relationships, happiness, living without stress and health.

Maggie will take you on a journey starting at beautiful Hanoi, Vietnam where she taught English for a year. She will also share her experience of living in Thailand, exploring the South Island of New Zealand and sleeping out with camels in the desert in India. Hear firsthand the joy she encountered when she visited her orphaned boys in Cambodia and the quirky story of attending a ukulele festival in North Queensland.

A free morning tea will be provided at the book launch. Bookings are essential by calling 1300 LIBRARY to book your place or by visiting council’s library website.

If you can’t make the book launch, join Maggie for an entertaining author talk at one of the following library locations:
