Buderim comes alive with street party

Buderim will come alive on Saturday with a street party which will entertain families while also helping community organisations.
Sunshine Coast divisional councillor Christian Dickson said Buderim Lions, Buderim Rotary and Buderim War Memorial Community Association members had organised the event and he was pleased to provide $5,000 from his discretionary funds to help such a great cause.
“This is a great example of members from our local organisations putting their hand up and volunteering to help celebrate everything Buderim is known for including its great village atmosphere and, most importantly, its community spirit,” Cr Dickson said.
“Funds raised will go back into community organisations and charities, creating a circle of support for the most vulnerable in our community.
“I encourage everyone to come along and enjoy performances by James Brennan who is the main voice of the Australian Springsteen Show; McGuinness and Co, one of Queensland’s favourite Irish bands; singer and songwriter Pam Clarke and comedic soprana Louise Kennedy, to name a few.
“There’ll also be street performers and activities to provide fun for the whole family.”
The street party will kick off at 6.30pm this Saturday.  In the event of wet weather, organisers will advise if it is going ahead via Facebook “Buderim Street Party”.
