A Sunshine Coast Regional Council Community Information brochure has been mailed to ratepayers across the region as part of an information campaign to spread the message that it will be “business as usual” from 17 March 2008.
Sunshine Coast Regional Council Interim CEO, John Knaggs, said the brochure will also be available at Council offices, customer service centres and libraries. The brochure provides information on what arrangements will be in place after the three Sunshine Coast Councils become one on 17 March.
For our residents, ratepayers and customers – it’s business as usual. The individual Council buildings will be open for business – and staff are currently doing an amazing job in readiness for Day 1,” Mr Knaggs said.
However, while each Council is preparing for this historic change, for our community there is very little, if anything, that they need to do.
For residents, your current Council office will become your local office of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and all the pre-existing services and activities will be available with little or no change.
“While there may well be some teething problems, if you are unsure or have any issues, I encourage you to speak to your local office of the Sunshine Coast Regional Council, using the same Council contact details you currently use.”
