Sunshine Coast Council today (June 15) held a Special Meeting to consider an update on negotiations with Stockland and the State Government in regard to the Caloundra South Infrastructure Agreement.

Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson said significant progress had been made during Council’s negotiations with Stockland and the State Government to maximise regional benefits through the Caloundra South Infrastructure Agreement.

“There are still some issues on the table and until such time as these are resolved we are not in a position to make any more detailed public statements,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“What I can say is Council’s staff has worked tirelessly to negotiate the best outcome for the broader Sunshine Coast community and this will remain the objective as we move forward.”

Mayor Jamieson said Council would make an announcement as soon as all issues had been resolved and an agreement signed and he looked forward to doing this in the near future.
