Sunshine Coast Division 2 Councillor Tim Dwyer is hosting a community forum on Wednesday 14 November to discuss how the Draft Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme may affect residents and ratepayers in Caloundra.
Cr Dwyer said the draft planning scheme is an important document for the region and he wanted to ensure locals who live and work in his division had a thorough understanding of the draft plan.
"I want to enable everyone to have an understanding of how their neighbourhood may be affected," he said.
"This forum is an additional opportunity for Division 2 residents to learn more about the draft planning scheme, to see the scheme and maps of the area and to talk with specialist council staff.
"It will allow the residents and ratepayers of Division 2 to gain a clearer picture what the draft planning scheme proposes for their neighbourhoods, for the future development of Caloundra and for the region."
The Draft Sunshine Coast Planning Scheme will be on public display from Friday 19 October until Friday 14 December 2012.
Council’s comprehensive consultation process includes a series of local information displays to be held across the Sunshine Coast. The draft planning scheme can also be viewed online at council’s website and at council offices and libraries.
