The Sunshine Coast Sister Cities Association will officially announce the Sunshine Coast ambassadors for the all expenses paid, six-day Japan marathon trip of a lifetime this Wednesday (16 November 2011) at 11am in the Tewantin Council Office courtyard.

The successful Sunshine Coast representatives – a male and a female – will travel free to Japan, staying three nights in a hotel and three nights in a Japanese homestay. They will run the Osaka-based Senshu International City Marathon on 19 February 2012.

Beating out a number of strong applications, both of the winners are regular endurance sports participants and have met all the conditions laid down by the Senshu Marathon committee to qualify as marathon ambassadors for the Sunshine Coast.

Applicants needed to have recently completed a marathon in under five hours, be a Sunshine Coast resident 18 years of age or older, be in good physical health and be a keen ambassador for the Sunshine Coast.

This opportunity is thanks to Sunshine Coast Sister Cities Association's relationship with Izumisamo City, one of the host cities of this major running event.
