Coast tourism campaign takes flight

SCDL's new tourism campaign - Vacation Migration

Mayor Mark Jamieson and councillor for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Jason OPray, have commended Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL) on its new ‘Vacation Migration’ tourism campaign.

The Mayor said council was proud to support SCDL through the Tourism and Major Events levy.

“Tourism is identified in the Regional Economic Development Strategy as one of the Coast’s high-value industries, and this fantastic new campaign will help to boost our visitor numbers,” Mayor Jamieson said.

“Promotion of the Sunshine Coast region, through high quality campaigns like this, is essential in helping us achieve our goals for tourism and a sustainable local economy.

“The campaign has already been well received, which is evident by the 38,000 online views the TV commercial had in just four days.”

Cr Jason OPray said the positive response to the campaign came as no surprise, given the commercial focused on the natural beauty of the region.

“The visual nature of social media makes it an excellent way to showcase this beautiful region of ours, and SCDL have done a brilliant job providing a birds-eye view of our natural attractions,” Cr OPray said.

“I encourage everyone to share the YouTube link through their social media profiles and help spread the word about our great lifestyle.
