If you are looking for funding to support your community organisation’s latest project, a Sunshine Coast Council grant could be the answer.
The latest round of the community grants program is now open and groups can apply for amounts up to $50,000 to fund their projects.
Types of projects that have been funded previously through the grants program include festivals and events, club house upgrades, community gardens, oral histories, sporting equipment, revegetation works, sun-safety measures.
Individuals can also apply through the Individual Development Grants for up to $500 for assistance when representing the region by performing, competing or presenting at national competitions, conferences and events.
Community Policy and Programs Portfolio Holder Councillor Jenny McKay said the Grants Program provides assistance for projects that benefit communities right across the region.
"The grants program allows council to encourage and support groups that make a positive and ongoing contribution to the Coast’s community wellbeing, environmental sustainability, economic prosperity and cultural life," Cr McKay said.
"Potential applicants should give one of council’s grants officers a call first to discuss your project.
"They’ll help you tease out the important information needed to create a compelling grant application, giving you the best chance of success.
"By partnering with the community through the grants program, we are working towards our vision for the Sunshine Coast to be Australia’s most sustainable region."
Not-for-profit community groups and organisations and individuals may be eligible to apply for grants in the categories of:
- Community Development
