Cotton Tree Water Park Grand Opening
  • Thursday 16 September 2010

Swim Fit and the Sunshine Coast Council are excited to announce the grand opening of the Coast’s largest water park at Cotton Tree Aquatic Centre on Monday 27 September from 9am to 2pm.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the official launch, with free entry for children 16 and under (with a paying adult).

For families, the traditional swimming pool experience will never be the same again. The new water park comprises numerous interactive features including awesome spray fountains, a water cannon, spiral tunnel and best of all, the amazing... Mega Soaker - a huge bucket suspended high above the ground which slowly fills with water before tipping over and dumping litres of water straight over the top of those lurking below!

Suitable for all age groups, the water park has been designed with imagination, play value, public health and safety and water conservation in mind. There are three separate areas including a small children’s area at zero depth, an intermediate area and a larger kids’ area at a depth of 44cm. Other exciting features of the water park include the Tuney Trio (three sets of water soakers), the Geyser, Tidal Wave and Power Spray Activator.

Festivities galore are planned for the grand opening celebration including the popular Hot Rocket and Challenger giant inflatables in use, lucky door prizes, 50% off memberships purchased on the day, a sausage sizzle and loads of giveaways. Plus, Hot 91 will be doing a live broadcast between 9am to 12pm from the centre.

Available to interview at the event will be Division 8 councillor Debbie Blumel and Swim Fit Director Grant Belcher.
