Council offers free help to businesses

On 1 December 2011, a State Government waste levy will come into force that will affect every single business on the Sunshine Coast that either pays for a commercial waste service or disposes of waste at council facilities.

Council is responsible for implementing the levy and businesses will notice the extra charge on their rates notice from January 2011 or when they deposit waste at the landfill from 1 December.

To assist businesses prepare for the State Waste Levy and reduce their exposure to increased costs council is hosting three free information sessions.
