Sunshine Coast Council has adopted a landscape plan for La Balsa Park at Buddina to address its increasing popularity with residents and visitors.

The plan will be delivered in stages pending council budgets.

Division 4 Councillor Chris Thompson said the plan had been developed following community consultation earlier this year.

“The 1.5 hectare La Balsa Park is becoming more popular with locals and visitors, especially families, and this plan will help council ensure the facilities are suitable for the large number of people using them,” Cr Thompson said.

“It includes playgrounds, refurbished and more accessible toilet blocks, wider pathways, improved access to the river for swimming and non-motorised water craft, and larger barbecues.”
