Council services over Christmas
  • Saturday 13 December 2008

Sunshine Coast Council would like to remind residents and visitors to the Sunshine Coast that while council administration offices will be closed during the public holiday, essential services, including kerbside waste collection and lifeguard patrols, will continue as usual over the Christmas and New Year period.

Please refer to below for information on our holiday services:

Office hours
Council offices will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve, Wednesday 24 December, and will be closed on all public holidays. Council offices will also be closed on Friday 2 January.

Lifeguard services
Council provides lifeguard patrols at many of the Coast’s beaches between Noosa West and Golden Beach – a map of all Sunshine Coast patrolled beaches and further information on lifeguard services are available on council’s website www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au. This service will operate as usual.

Libraries
Council libraries will be closed public holidays only.

Waste management
Kerbside waste collection will continue as usual. The Nambour landfill only will be open on Christmas Day between 6am and noon.

After hours emergencies
At the close of business, council’s general phone numbers divert to the after hours service provider. There is no need to dial a different number. This is only for emergencies relating to council activities and services.
