Cultural Heritage Networking & Volunteers Luncheon
  • Tuesday 25 September 2012

The Big Pineapple will provide an iconic backdrop for a networking event for Volunteers and others involved in the Cultural Heritage sector across the region tomorrow, Wednesday 26 September.

Sunshine Coast Council will host the event where Councillor Jenny McKay will join Volunteers from museums and other community organisations, to celebrate their achievements in 2012.

Author of Our Sweetest Icon, Kerry Brown and Carol Low will present a short history of the Big Pineapple. Gubbi Gubbi representative, Lyndon Davis, will introduce the documentary Buderim: an Indigenous and South Sea Islander history, together with the film-maker, James Muller.

Council organisers are expecting a great turn out, and are pleased to give Volunteers, who often work in isolation, a chance to meet with others to share their experience and ideas.

The Cultural Heritage Networking event and Volunteers Luncheon is funded by the Cultural Heritage Levy.
