Dare to be scene
  • Wednesday 04 April 2012

Sunshine Coast Council is proud to announce the Sunshine Coast Events Network (scene) full program of event management workshops and networking evenings designed to strengthen the quality and enrich the diversity of events on the Sunshine Coast.

In 2012 scene will run three educational workshops and networking evenings throughout the year. The first ‘Community Event Workshop’ will be held on Wednesday 18 April at the Corporate Lounge, Stockland Park (Sunshine Coast Stadium).

The Community Events workshop includes a range of topics and presenters to inspire covering practical advice such as how to market without money, obtain an event permit, engage with Indigenous cultures and much more.

All workshops run from 1.30pm and are designed for those who are looking to run a new event, new to event organisation or would like to further develop existing events or skills.

The three educational workshops for 2012 each feature a different theme: Community Events (18 April), Festivals (18 July) and Business Events (18 October). A variety of topical subjects are addressed by presenters with valuable knowledge and experience in the relevant area.

scene is excited to offer to the community fantastic package deals and early bird prices for the educational workshops in 2012. To attend all three workshops residents can take advantage of the special package price of $70 and a single early bird price of $25 which is available up until two weeks prior to each workshop. The full cost per person for each workshop is $30, students $25 and all prices include afternoon tea. The package deal is only available until 13 April so interested participants are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.

The networking evenings are held after each educational workshop and provide an opportunity for those in the events industry on the Sunshine Coast to build important business relationships and networks. These evenings are free to attend and include finger food, entertainment, lucky door prizes, guest speakers, cash bar, a showcase of local suppliers and performers as well as new products and technologies.

scene is proudly supported by Business Events Sunshine Coast, the University of the Sunshine Coast, Sunshine Coast TAFE and Mantra Group who will all have strong input and involvement with the network.
