Time is running out to cast your vote in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize (SCAP) People’s Choice Awards at each of the region’s galleries.
Now in its eighth consecutive year, SCAP has achieved national acclaim for its annual representation of contemporary Australian art.
Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said SCAP is one of the richest art prizes in Australia and continues to attract the best contemporary and emerging artists the nation has to offer.
“The judge has selected the SCAP winners in the 2D, 3D and T3 (Tertiary) categories and now we are inviting the community to get involved,” Cr McKay said.
“By visiting each of the SCAP exhibitions at Caloundra Regional Gallery, Noosa Regional Gallery and the Butter Factory Arts Centre, Cooroy, people can vote for their favourite artist in the People’s Choice awards.
“By casting a vote, people will receive one entry in a draw to win tickets to a Nambour Civic Centre show, with the lucky voters being drawn at each of the People’s Choice winner announcements.
“The artists who garner the most votes from visitors to each of the galleries will be awarded with a cash prize.”
The 2D People’s Choice award is sponsored by Friends Regional Gallery Caloundra Inc., and the 3D People’s Choice award is sponsored by Friends Noosa Regional Gallery Inc.
