Draft Nambour Showgrounds Master Plan released for community feedback
  • Friday 26 July 2013

Residents of the Sunshine Coast are invited to have their say as Sunshine Coast Council reviews the Nambour Showgrounds draft Master Plan.

Division 10 Councillor Greg Rogerson said the Nambour Showgrounds is an iconic and important piece of social infrastructure for Nambour and the region and it’s important that people have their say about its future direction.

“Community members can review and provide comment on the draft master plan at a Meet us in the Showgrounds session from 11am to 2pm on Saturday 3 August 2013,” he said.

“There is a lot to consider when preparing a master plan, so we would like to hear as many views and ideas as possible about future possibilities.

“The draft master plan sets a strategic direction for the Showgrounds, and identifies what the site will look like and how it will function over the next 10 years and beyond.

“The plan also aims to maximise the Showground’s economic development potential, while enhancing the site’s value as a hub of community activity.

“The draft Nambour Showgrounds Master Plan recommends a number of onsite improvements which will enhance the site’s function and sustainability.”

There are a number of ways to provide input to shape the future of the Nambour Showgrounds. If community members are unable to attend the Meet us at the Showgrounds session, they can call into the Nambour Showgrounds Administration Office during office hours, or visit the Nambour Library to view a copy from 3 August 2013. Residents can also visit the ‘Have Your Say’ section of council’s website or call council’s Customer Contact Centre on 5475 7272. Submissions can be made until 30 August 2013.
