Octonauts on stage

Council presents new and affordable holiday activities that are full of fun to captivate your children over the July school holidays at Sunshine Coast Venues.

Big screen entertainment at Arthouse Cinema kicks off the holiday fun with screenings in June and July of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, guaranteed to get the whole family laughing.

Join forces with Captain Barnacles next door at Nambour Civic Centre when Octonauts Live! Operation Reef Shield brings an underwater spectacular full of interactive and educational fun to the stage in July.

Or for an enchanting production guaranteed to have little fairies or elves dancing in the aisles, Fairy Dancing Girl will present a one-hour show that will leave the kids talking for weeks to come.

Andy Griffith’s novel comes to life on stage with The 26 Storey Treehouse, back with even more inventions for one day only at Nambour Civic Centre on Thursday, July 9. This show is loaded with light-hearted humour, bizarre concoctions and outrageously weird and funny ideas, including self-inflating underpants.

Teenagers need not miss out. Lake Kawana Community Centre will host the Youth Bazaar – Buy, Swap and Sell – an opportunity for young people aged 12 to 17 years to sell, browse or buy uniquely crafted jewellery, works of art, or just get rid of old clothes and clean out the cupboards. Or for those who have a love of computers and a talent for minecraft, BuddyVerse will host the popular BuddyVerse Minecraft camps, a sell-out event.

Sunshine Coast Stadium will provide exhilarating on-field entertainment for the whole family when American Football takes centre stage for one big game on the Sunshine Coast. Australia will play New Zealand on Saturday, July 11 for the right to play in the Under-19 World Championships in the United States. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to see one of the world’s most popular sports right here in your own backyard.
