50th Anniversary grants application – closing soon.

Community groups and organisations across the Coast are being encouraged to make 2017 a year to remember by joining the 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast celebrations and apply for a grant before the end of the month.

A special, one-off 50th Anniversary Fund is open to not-for-profit groups and organisations for projects, events and activities that support the 50th anniversary and its legacy with round one of the grants closing on October 31.

Mayor Mark Jamieson said the plan for the 50th Anniversary of the Naming of the Sunshine Coast was to celebrate our identity and engage our community.

“Through this Anniversary Fund, we would like to invite our community groups and organisations to play a key part in the 50th anniversary celebrations.” Mayor Jamieson said.

“I would encourage anyone interested in applying for one of these grants to discuss their project or event with a grants officer and plan to get their applications in soon – before the cut off date.”

Not-for-profit community organisations that operate within the Sunshine Coast local government area or can demonstrate the project, activity or event will benefit residents of the Sunshine Coast Local Government Area are eligible to apply for a 50th Anniversary Fund grant.

There are two types of grants available, category A grants up to $2000 and category B grants up to $20,000.
