Sunshine Coast Council will be giving away free trees to residents in November and December.
Division 1 Councillor, Anna Grosskreutz said that these will be her last free tree days before retiring from council in March 2012.
"All residents are welcome at any of these times or locations and you will all be eligible to receive two free plants per rates notice," Cr Grosskreutz said.
"I will also honour past rates notices provided they have not been stamped for collection.
"There will be a choice of trees, natives and ground covers and a council horticulturalist will be on hand to answer questions about the best growing conditions for the plants.
"The free tree days are a great way of meeting local people and giving away native plants is good for the local environment.
"I hope to see lots of locals on the free tree days as it is my last chance to have a chat with the people that I have represented over the past 16 years in Local Government."
