Not-for-profit community groups with an exciting project coming up can apply now for funding through Sunshine Coast Council’s Community Grants Program.
Community Programs Portfolio Councillor Jenny McKay said the grants help a diverse range of groups, which play an important role in creating sustainable communities.
“The Community Grants Program offers funding for one-off projects, activities or events that directly benefit the Sunshine Coast community,” Cr McKay said.
“Council is keen to fund projects which generate lots of community involvement.
“Previously funded projects include community festivals, workshops to engage at-risk youth, and Christmas celebrations.
“Groups need to apply now for festive season funding if they are planning activities to help our communities celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Eve or Australia Day.”
There are some minor changes to the eligibility criteria – groups should visit council’s website or call a grants officer on 5441 8616 for details.
“Our great staff know the grants programs inside-out and can help to develop your application,” Cr McKay said.
Groups can apply in one of seven categories – Community Development, Cultural Development, Cultural Heritage, Economic Development, Environment, Festive Season, and Sport, Recreation and Healthy Living.
Applications close 5pm Friday 16 August 2013.
