Sunshine Coast businesses are encouraged to take advantage of one of Queensland’s most significant procurement opportunities this decade – the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Economic Development portfolio councillor for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Jason OPray, said businesses interested in Commonwealth Games projects should attend upcoming State Government procurement workshops.

“Sunshine Coast businesses need to start preparing for these tendering opportunities now – the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games may be four years away, but procurement has already started,” Cr OPray said.

“State Government is managing procurement for the Games, and their workshops will help businesses understand the tendering process and how to conduct market research to maximise their chances of success.”

The interactive workshops will be held on:

• Friday August 1, 8-11am and 1-4pm
• Thursday August 21, 8-11am and 1-4pm

For more information or to register for the workshop contact the Department of State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Regional Services on 13 QGOV (13 7468) or email sunshinecoast@dsdip.qld.gov.au.
